Etsy Won't Load or Responds Slowly

If the site takes forever to open or just spins endlessly, start with the basics: clear your browser cache and cookies, then do a hard reload. Cached data gets stale and blocks updated resources from loading. Switching to a different browser or trying an incognito window quickly tells you if the issue is browser-specific. Also check your internet connection — run a speed test and restart your router if speeds look off.

Login Fails or Account Is Inaccessible

Wrong password errors after you're sure the credentials are correct usually point to a session conflict. Log out of all devices via account settings, reset your password, and log back in fresh. If two-factor authentication isn't delivering codes, check that your phone number or authenticator app is still synced properly. Sometimes the verification email lands in spam, so check there before requesting a new one.

Payment Doesn't Go Through at Checkout

This is one of the most frustrating stops in the buying flow. A few things to check:

• Confirm your card details are entered correctly, including billing address and CVV
• Make sure your bank hasn't flagged the transaction as suspicious — a quick call or check of your banking app usually resolves it
• Try a different payment method if available, such as PayPal
• Disable any browser extensions that might interfere with the payment form

Product Images Refuse to Display

When listings show broken image placeholders, it's rarely a server-wide outage. More likely your browser is blocking mixed content or your connection is too slow to pull high-resolution files. Disable aggressive content-blocking extensions temporarily and reload. On mobile, switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data (or the reverse) often unsticks the image loading.

Search Returns Wrong or No Results

If search feels broken — showing irrelevant items or timing out — try rephrasing with simpler keywords and avoid special characters. Filters sometimes get stuck in a state that returns zero results; resetting all active filters and re-running the search fixes it in most cases. If the issue persists across sessions, clearing site data for the domain and reloading usually restores normal search behavior.

Messages Not Sending or Arriving

• Check your notification settings in the account dashboard to make sure messaging alerts are enabled
• If sent messages show no delivery confirmation, refresh the conversation thread rather than resending
• Incoming messages sometimes get delayed; waiting a few minutes and reloading the inbox is enough
• On the mobile app, force-close and reopen it if the chat interface freezes mid-thread

Mobile App Crashes or Freezes

Outdated app versions are usually behind persistent crashes. Update through your device's app store, then restart the phone before reopening. If the app freezes on specific screens, clearing the app cache in your device settings often clears whatever corrupted data is causing it. For ongoing instability, a clean reinstall is the most reliable fix.
