Service info and troubleshooting

eKool Won't Load in the Browser

If the site fails to open, start with the basics: clear your browser cache and cookies, then reload. Outdated cached data is a surprisingly common culprit. Try a different browser or switch to incognito mode to rule out extension conflicts. If that doesn't help, check whether your DNS is resolving correctly — switching to 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1 sometimes fixes silent loading failures.

Login Errors and Password Problems

Authentication issues usually fall into a few categories:

  • Wrong credentials entered — double-check caps lock and saved autofill values
  • Session expired — close all tabs, clear cookies, and log in fresh
  • Account locked after multiple failed attempts — wait 10–15 minutes before retrying
  • Browser not accepting the session cookie — disable strict tracking protection temporarily

If you use ID-card or Mobile-ID login and it keeps failing, make sure your card certificates are valid and that the browser has the necessary plugins or extensions installed and up to date.

Grades and Messages Not Appearing

When new entries aren't showing up, it's usually a sync delay or a stale page. Force a full refresh with Ctrl+Shift+R on desktop. If the problem persists across sessions, the issue may be on the school's side — the teacher or administrator hasn't published the entry yet, or there's a sync lag between the school's internal system and eKool.

Mobile App Freezes or Crashes

Outdated app versions are the most frequent cause of freezing and unexpected exits. Update the app through your device's app store. If it still crashes, try clearing the app cache from your phone settings without uninstalling. On iOS, offloading and reinstalling the app resets local data that may have become corrupted.

Notifications Not Coming Through
  • Check that notifications are enabled both in your phone's system settings and inside the app itself
  • Make sure battery optimization isn't killing the background process
  • On Android, add the app to the list of unrestricted apps so it can maintain a connection
Files and Images Fail to Load

Attachments, photos, and documents sometimes refuse to load when the connection is slow or unstable. Switch from mobile data to Wi-Fi, or vice versa, and try again. If a specific file consistently won't open, it may be corrupted at the source — contact the person who uploaded it. For video content, lowering playback quality or waiting a few seconds for buffering usually resolves stuttering.

Slow Performance and High Response Times

Heavy traffic on school reporting days can slow the service noticeably. Outside of those peaks, sluggish response is usually a local network issue. Run a quick speed test — if your ping is above 100ms or download speed is under 5 Mbps, the problem is on your end. Restarting your router often helps more than people expect.
