WebUntis Won't Load at All

If the page just spins or returns a blank screen, start with the basics: clear your browser cache and cookies, then do a hard refresh. Chromium-based browsers sometimes cache a broken page state aggressively. If that doesn't help, try a different browser entirely. Safari, Firefox, and Chrome can behave differently depending on cached session data. Also check whether your school's subdomain is correct — each institution gets its own address, and typing the wrong one gives you nothing useful.

Login Keeps Failing or Rejecting Password

This is one of the most common complaints. A few things to check:

  • Make sure you're using the credentials your school issued, not a self-created account — many users mix these up
  • Caps Lock and autofill can silently insert wrong characters into the password field
  • If your school uses single sign-on through a third-party provider, the issue might be on that provider's end, not WebUntis itself
  • Try requesting a password reset only if you're certain the credentials are wrong — repeated failed attempts can trigger a temporary lockout
Timetable Not Displaying or Showing Outdated Data

The schedule sometimes gets stuck showing old data due to a stale local cache. Force-refresh the page or log out and back in. On the mobile app, go to settings and clear the local data manually. If the timetable is missing entirely, your account may not be linked to a class yet — contact your school administrator.

Mobile App Freezes or Crashes on Launch
  • Update the app to the latest version before anything else
  • If it crashes on launch, uninstall and reinstall — corrupted local storage is a frequent culprit
  • On Android, revoke and re-grant the app's permissions after reinstalling
  • Low internal storage on the device can cause persistent freezing
Notifications Not Arriving on Mobile

Check that push notifications are enabled both in your phone's system settings and inside the app itself. On iOS, background app refresh also needs to be active. If your school sends messages through the platform and they don't appear, try logging out and back in to re-register the device token with the server.

Slow Interface and High Response Times

If everything loads but feels sluggish, the problem is usually your connection rather than the service. Run a quick speed test and check latency. School Wi-Fi networks are often congested during peak hours. Switching to mobile data can confirm whether the issue is network-specific. If slowness persists on a fast connection, the server load on your institution's instance might be elevated — this typically resolves within minutes.
